Description
Originally one of two possible entries in this months TrekBBS Art Challenge. Whenever I do a fake cover or period piece, there's usually a lot of research to make sure the "packaging" is as accurate as possible. In this case the "Criterion Collection". I've wanted to do a mock "Criterion" release for some time and thought I knew what the standard Criterion release DVD / Blu looked like. It's changed more than I thought. They used to be largely photographic covers with a certain logo, but it's evolved a few times. Nowadays they seem to be jumping on the minimalist art style bandwagon and I've seen one or two covers done by Seth and one by Hellboy artist Mike Mignola. Logo wise both of my versions sort of mix it up, and for this version I went with the more stylized and minimalist approach many of their covers seem to take these days.
